Now you can list your items for sale, from the comfort of your home.Once registered, add a description and pictures of your item, all for Free. The Pavilion members review the list of posted items regularly and will contact owners of the items if they are interested in a purchase.
If a dealer is interested in your item and decides to make an offer or purchase it, you will be asked to show an ID (driver license) and a copy will be kept on file as part of the record for the transaction. All the Antique Pavilion dealers are driven by a strict ethical code and any suspicious item will be reported to the authorities.
TIPS :
- Before starting make sure you have at hand, photos, information and the details about the item to be listed.
- Clear photos from different angles will offer a better idea about the item and you will be more successful in catching the dealers interest.
- If you have the proof of purchase for your item do not forget to mention it.
- Remember, the prices you might have seen at the Antiques Road Show or the price indicated on that apraisal document for the insurance or through other references based on the similarity with your item, will not be matched by a dealer making an offer. Most dealers will offer a wholsale price and not a retail price. Basically they will offer you a portion of what the item can be resold for, not what it is valued at.
- Be absolutely sure you want to sell the item. Once you make the decision to sell Grandma’s antique vase, there’s no turning back. unless you want to buy it back at retail price, or unless you have reached a consignment agreement with the dealer.
